The Raritan Fire Company is rich in history as we are the oldest fire company in Somerset County, incorporated in 1870. We are a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to the well being of the residents, business owners, and visitors. On average, the fire department responds to 250-300 calls per year. Our current fleet includes three pumpers, one aerial ladder, one utility vehicle, and one command vehicle.

Potential candidates can complete the attached regular membership application and email it to the fire chief,
Brian Kredatus, drop it off in the mailbox at 611 North Thompson Street, or deliver it in person any Thursday evening.
We also offer a successful junior firefighter program available to teens aged 14-17. For those interested in the junior program, please complete the junior membership application. Many of our younger firefighters have graduated from the junior program into the ranks of regular membership upon their 18th birthday.
Batteries should be replaced annually. However, we recommend that the batteries be replaced every time that the clocks change for daylight savings time.
