Public Works

The Department of Public Works is responsible for the pickup and removal of all trash and bulk material for residents.
The employees of the Public Works Department work hard to provide good, reliable year round service, often under very difficult weather conditions. With your help and consideration, our goals of providing the best possible service will be achieved.

  • Garbage pick-up
  • Bulk garbage pick-up
  • Brush and leaf pick-up
  • Clearing of blocked sewer main lines running through the center of streets
  • Grass recycling
  • Minor and moderate-level maintenance of roads (e.g., pothole sealing, snow plowing, painting of traffic lines, and storm sewer catch basin repairs)

Recycling Program for Senior & Disabled Borough Residents

In order to help our Senior and Disabled residents, effective immediately the Borough will pick up any and all electronics that you are unable to deliver to the Somerset County Recycling Center.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Garbage is picked up on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
Leaf pick up begins in November.
Bulk pick up is the 2nd Thursday of the month. Runs from March through November.
The borough does not pick up electronics. They are to be dropped off at Newtech. Which is located in Somerset, NJ.

Grass recycling starts in April and runs through the end of October.

Somerset County is responsible for the collection of recyclable materials.
