Free Rabies Clinics in January 2010 |
THE SOMERVILLE-RARITAN-MANVILLE HEALTH DEPARTMENT IS OFFERING FREE RABIES CLINICS FOR CATS AND DOGS ON THE FOLLOWING SATURDAYS: ON JANUARY 9 IN SOMERVILLE AT THE WEST END HOSE COMPANY (133 W. HIGH STREET); ON JANUARY 16 IN RARITAN AT THE NORTH THOMPSON STREET FIREHOUSE; AND ON JANUARY 23 IN MANVILLE AT THE NORTH 8TH AVENUE FIREHOUSE. ALL CLINICS ARE FROM 10:00 AM - 12:00 NOON. ALL CATS MUST BE RESTRAINED ON A LEASH, IN A BOX OR CARRIER, OR WRAPPED IN A TOWEL.
Licenses are required for all three boroughs for both cats and dogs. Licenses can ONLY be purchased in the town where the pet owner resides. There will be no licenses sold at the Somerville clinic this year; licenses will be sold at the Raritan and Manville clinics.

Vital Statistics |
The following certified copies are available from the Raritan Health Department:
· Birth Certificates for anyone who was born in the Borough of Raritan · Death Certificates for anyone who has died in the Borough of Raritan. · Marriage certificates for anyone who was married in the Borough of Raritan.
Each certificate is $10.00 and is payable in cash, money order or check made out to Raritan Health Department. Certificates may be obtained in person at the Heath Department, located at 22 First Street. If you are requesting a certificate through the mail, you need to send a photo- copy of your drivers license, a stamped self-addresses envelope with your request. Please do not send cash through the mail. Also the following information depending on the type of certificate you are requesting.
The following is required by New Jersey Department of Vital Statistics:
· Valid Identification is required for the release of a birth, death or marriage certificate. · Only you or your mother or father, sibling or spouse may obtain your birth certificate. A certificate will not be released to any other relative or family friend. · To request a birth certificate you must know the full name, the exact date of birth, also the father's full name and the mother's maiden name. · To request a death certificate you must know the full name, the date of death, and the exact location where the person died. · To request a marriage certificate you must know the full names of the bride and groom, the bride's maiden name, the date and the location of the marriage.
Please note the information for the above certificates in the Borough of Raritan is available from 1948 on. Information prior to 1948 is available in the Township of Bridgewater.

The Women’s Health and Counseling Center (908.526.2335) offers the following services by appointment only:
· Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Program; · Confidential HIV/AIDS Counseling & Testing Site; · Cancer Early Detection Program; · Preventive care for common illnesses, treatment for minor acute health concerns and physical exams are now available on a sliding fee scale.
