Adult Health Screening

The Somerville-Raritan-Manville Health Department, in collaboration with Somerset Medical Center, will sponsor an Adult Health Screening on Saturday, June 14 from 8:30 AM - 12:00 Noon at Raritan Borough Hall (22 First Street)). Participation is by appointment only.

 

The Adult Health Screening will offer a blood test for cholesterol [total cholesterol, HDL, LDL & triglycerides], diabetes and anemia for $20.00 for residents of Somerville, Raritan and Manville - $25.00 for all non-residents. The PSA blood test for men is an additional $15.00 for everyone.  FREE services include: blood pressure; take-home colon-rectal health kits; diabetes risk assessment; body stress screening; hearing test; vision (acuity and glaucoma); percent body fat analysis and BMI (body mass index) calculation; chair massage; podiatric (foot) screening; carbon monoxide screening (for smokers; oral health screening; health education materials. The blood test requires that all participants do not eat or drink anything, except essential medications, for 12 hours prior to their appointment.

Blood Pressure Screening

Manville free blood pressure screenings are held the 2nd Thursday of the month, from 11:00am—1:00pm at the VFW Hall. No appointment is needed.

Childhood Health

Child Health Conferences and Childhood Immunizations are scheduled throughout the year. Call the Community Visiting Nurse Association at 908.725.9355 for an appointment.

Women’s Health

The Women’s Health and Counseling Center (908.526.2335) offers the following services by appointment only:

 

- Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Program;

- Confidential HIV/AIDS Counseling & Testing Site;

- Cancer Early Detection Program;

- Preventive care for common illnesses, treatment for minor acute health concerns and physical exams are now available on a sliding fee scale.
