NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Raritan Public Library Addition

NOTICE TO BIDDERS is hereby given that sealed Bids will be received by the Borough of Raritan for the Raritan Public Library (hereinafter called the Owner), Attn:  Marguerite Schmitt, Borough Clerk, located at 22 First Street, Raritan, NJ 08869 in the County of Somerset, State of New Jersey, on or before Wednesday, April 14, 2016 at 10:00AM prevailing time.  All Bids shall be delivered by hand.  All Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud at that time.  The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in bids and to reject any and all bids if it is in the best interest of the Owner to do so.

Separate sealed bids for:

GENERAL CONTRACT:   LIBRARY ADDITION

All work incidental thereto, including but not limited to the Library Addition and as required in accordance with the Project Manual.

Bids must be accompanied by a guarantee in the amount of 10% of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond.

Bids must be accompanied by consent of surety regardless of whether a check or Bid Bond is submitted.  The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish an acceptable Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond.  

Documents may be obtained and examined at the Architect’s Office, Arcari + Iovino Architects, P.C. located at One Katherine Street, Little Ferry, NJ between the hours of 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.  The Contract Documents may be examined at the Raritan Public Library, 54 East Somerset Street, Raritan, NJ 08869 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M., Monday - Friday.  Payment for Contract Documents shall be made by check or bank draft in the amount of $50.00 payable to the Arcari + Iovino Architects, P.C., for each set.  Payment for Documents is non-refundable.  Documents will not be mailed.

Bidders shall have a minimum of 3 years experience of successful completion of similar work as this project requires.

Bidders must be authorized to do business in New Jersey.  Any Bidder which is a corporation not chartered under the laws of the State of New Jersey, must submit an affidavit certifying that said corporation is authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey.

Bidders must be registered with the Department of Labor and are required to comply with the requirements of Public Law 1999, c.238, “The Public Works Contractor Registration Act”, which became effective on April 11, 2000.

 Bidders, their subcontractors and suppliers, must comply with the New Jersey Business Registration requirements.

Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of Public Law 1975, c. 127 which pertains to "Non-Discrimination" and "Affirmative Actions", and Public Law 1977, c. 33, which requires a Statement of Corporate Ownership.  

Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et. seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27.
