Public Works
The Department of Public Works is responsible for the pickup and removal of all trash and bulk material for residents.
The employees of the Public Works Department work hard to provide good, reliable year-round service, often under very difficult weather conditions. With your help and consideration, our goal of providing the best possible service will be achieved.
Services:
- Solid waste: solid waste and bulk collection.
- Roadways: Pothole repair, minor permanent repairs, line striping.
- Street sweeping: Periodically sweep each section of town.
- Street Regulatory Signs: Placement and repairs.
- Storm Water Management: Catch Basin cleaning and repairing.
- Tree Trimming: Maintain all trees on Boro properties and right of ways.
- Parks and Playground: athletic field maintenance – lining. Repairs as needed.
- Snow removal: de-icing and plowing of all roadways, parking lots, clear sidewalks.
- Pools: perform all required maintenance and ensure operations.
- Building Maintenance: All operations and coordination of services for all Boro facilities, also including ground maintenance and mowing
- Emergencies and concerns: respond to all residential complaints.
- Recreation and town-sponsored events: Coordinate and support, and clean-up.
- Sanitary Sewer: Operation and maintenance of collection system and pump stations.
Recycling Program for Senior & Disabled Borough Residents
In order to help our Senior and Disabled residents, effective immediately the Borough will pick up any and all electronics that you are unable to deliver to the Somerset County Recycling Center.
